Kendall CrawfordBoard of Directors President
Mr. Crawford has been a fan of the marching arts from his very first experience in junior high school. Since that time, he has been a musician, instructor, designer, adjudicator, and assistant director for Impulse drum and bugle corps. Assisting the corps to their open class championship in 2006 was a pleasure and highlight. He also continues to instruct students at the high school and college level. Most notably, the Riverside Community College Marching Tigers. Mr. Crawford continues to assist the Chino High School 77th Calvary Marching band, where he has been on staff for many years.
When asked to join Watchmen, Mr. Crawford envisioned an opportunity to bring drum corps to a community that could rally around an organization dedicated to it’s youth. Kendall had a similar experience with the Sound Machine youth band of the Inland Empire Under the guidance of Mr. David Schaafsma and Ron Barbee among others. With the Sound Machine, it was his honor to serve as the bands drum major for 4 year. Through that experience, he garnered many skills he uses still as an instructor for many school programs throughout the state.
Pass programs included: Alta Loma High School, Aliso Niguel High School, Ayala High School, Chino High School, Glendora High School, Upland High School, West High School (Bakersfield), Woodbridge High School (Irvine)
It is his hope that the Watchmen youth organization will fill a space in the region for those who seek to perform at their highest level and find within themselves what they never thought possible before.
