Executive Director (Drum Corps & Indoor Percussion)ADMINISTRATION STAFF

David Becker is an active Percussion Instructor and designer based in the Southern California area.

This is David’s 5th year with Watchmen. As one of the co-founders of the organization in 2013 he started out working as the Percussion Caption Head for the Drum Corps from 2013-2015. In 2014 he was also appointed Asst. Corps Director. In 2015 he was promoted to Executive Director by the Board of directors where he still holds this position today.

David also oversees Watchmen’s Winter Percussion program which competes locally in SCPA, WGI and ADLA were this group has medaled in every season thus far.

Currently, he is the Percussion Caption Head for Riverside King High School and oversees the development of Earhart and Miller Junior High Schools. He has also worked for the Nationally Award Winning Chino High School 77th Cavalry 1997-2013, Ramona High School, Patriot High School, Rubidoux High School, Norte Vista High School, Los Altos High School, Colony High School, Moreno Valley High School and Grace Yolky Middle School.

David was the bass tech for the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps 2007-2009 & 2011-2012 In addition, David was the bass tech for the 2013 SCPA Silver Medalist Dark Sky Percussion and worked for Pulse Percussion as the Bass tech in 2008.

David teaches up and coming students of all ages and levels throughout the community. His performance experience includes programs such as Chino High School, the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, The Sound Machine of the Inland Empire Youth Band (Percussion Captain), and Riverside Community College (Bass line Section Leader).

David is endorsed by Innovative Percussion, Treeworks Chimes and Remo Drum Heads.

David lives in Ontario, California.

Battery Caption Head/Battery Arranger (Drum Corps & Indoor Percussion)

This will be Harry’s second season as both Battery Caption Head and Percussion Arranger.

Harry is an active educator in Southern California. He has taught at organizations such as Dark Sky Percussion, Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, Poway High School, Mt. Carmel High School, Chino High School, Westview High School, and Grossmont High School. His performance experience includes Alternative Percussion Ensemble (2005-2010) and Academy Drum and Bugle Corps (2008). In 2016, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music (B.M.) with a major in Film Scoring. While there, he studied drum set performance under Sergio Bellotti, Tony “Thunder” Smith, Henrique De Almeida, Bertram Lehmann, Neal Smith, and Larry Finn.

Harry has written for groups such as Ramona High School, Grossmont High School, Westview High School, Mayfair High School, Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, Springs Valley High School, Ramona Riverside High School, Riverside King High School, Mission Hills High School, among other schools within the US.

Harry is currently a freelance composer in the greater Los Angeles area pursuing a career in film scoring.

Assistant Director

Mr. Vicente, from California, becomes the Assistant Director after a successful season with the winter percussion program as the lead snare technician. During the past season he was integral to the process of internal organization and implemented many procedures that resulted in more effective rehearsals, improved internal organization, and a tremendous moral boost with the members. Having been involved with percussion since a young age, Mr. Vicente marched all 4 years in High School, and marched in the San Diego Alternative Percussion group alongside Caption Head Harry Hutchins. He studied electronic production and design while attending Berklee College of Music. He has taught at San Pasqual High School, San Pedro Music School for Children, and countless private lessons.

This is his second season with Watchmen Arts

Battery Tech

Adam has worked as a professional drummer and music educator for the past 15 years in Ventura and Los Angeles. He has a degree in Music Performance/Jazz Studies from California State University Northridge where he graduated in 2013 and is currently an Artist in Residence for Drumchannel.com. He has worked with groups such as Dark Sky Percussion, Gold Coast Independent, the Velvet Knights and the Watchmen. Previously he has worked with high school groups such as Oxnard High School, Rio Mesa High School, Royal High School and Lincoln Park High School.

Snare Tech

This is Connor’s first season teaching with Watchmen Indoor and he has taught with
Mission Hills High School(2015-2016).
He has marched in both Winter and Summer groups including, marching his age out
with Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps(2014-2017), is a founding member of
Watchmen Indoor(2015), and was a member with POW Percussion(2016-2017).  He currently resides in El Cajon.

Tenor Tech

Colin lived in Riverside California since August of 2014, and have since marched 3 falls with the RCC Marching Tigers, one winter with Dark Sky Percussion, and two winters with RCC Indoor Percussion. From Valdosta, GA, where he graduated from Lowndes High School (the first high school to have signed with System Blue for Brass), and went on to march one summer with Atlanta CV. Colin was also a drummer with Sidle Entertainment, the organization responsible for the L.A. Clippers and Chicago Bulls drumlines, among numerous past and TBH clients. Colin currently a student studying choral and orchestral composition, and sings with the RCC’s renowned Chamber Singers. He also like long walks on the beach and large dogs.

Bass Tech

Kyle began teaching at Watchmen as a bass tech in the summer of 2017. He has also taught at the high school he graduated from, Foothill High School.

As a bass drummer, Kyle has marched with both winter and summer groups including Blue Devils B (2012-2013), Blue Devils(2014-2016), Pulse Percussion(2016), and RCC(2017).

He currently is living in Riverside, CA and is working on getting a degree in computer science at the University of California, Riverside.

Front Ensemble Co- Caption Head

This is Marcel’s first season as Front Ensemble Caption Head with the Watchmen.

His past teaching experience includes Martin Luther King High School, La Sierra High School, Moreno Valley High School, West Covina High School, Apple Valley High School, and Jurupa Valley High School. He is currently the Percussion Caption Head and Arranger for La Sierra High School. He graduated from Martin Luther King High School, and currently instructs the front ensemble and is the Head Sound Technician.

After high school, Marcel would perform with the RCC Marching Tigers, Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Watchmen Indoor Percussion, and the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps.

Marcel currently resides in Riverside, CA, and is studying Percussion Performance under Jason Goodman and Steven Schmidt. Marcel has had the pleasure to study under Sandi Rennick, Lauren Teel, Brennan Davis, Stephen Symank, Chris McWilliams, and Brian Dinkel, through his years in the marching activity.
